Mogi das Cruzes is included in the Program of Development Journeys of the São Paulo State Tourism, developed by the Tourism Department of the São Paulo State Government, that divided the State in 8 macro tourism regions. Mogi is located in the expanded capital, along with other 39 municipalities.

The city has a great potential for business, ecological and rural tourism. In addition to the areas for tourism exploration, the Pico do Urubu, the Serra do Itapeti Natural Park, the Taiaçupeba and Jundiaí river dams, ecoturism, adventure tourism, leisure, rest, cultural and religious activities, exist other attractions. Business plans and projects are being developed in reference to each area of potential, in efforts to sensitize the local and external entrepreneurs and further develop tourism in the region.

Itapeti Agro tourism

Situated among the Presidente Dutra and Ayrton Senna Road, Itapeti Neighborhood shelters one of the most important Japanese colonies. The Agriculture Association from Itapeti, with the objective of strengthening and keeping the culture “alive”, developed a project that enchants all visitors. It is the Itapeti Agrotourism that proposes an immersion in the productive processes of flowers, fruit and orchids. Its production begun in 1948, with the arrival of 7 families. Nowadays the association includes approximately 60 families who promote the production of around 5 million orchid vases per year. This is the largest national producer region of ornamental plants.

Divine’s Party

The Holly Spirit Divine’s Party is a catholic commemoration aimed towards thankfulness, promise’s payment and wealth celebration. Mogi is one of the most antique cities that celebrate the Divine’s Party in the Country. Commemorated for more than 300 years, it last for 10 days and is considered the most important event in the municipality. As well as including very exciting parties with popular participation, the visits increase each year. The commemoration is esteemed for more than 20 thousand people only during the week. In 2006, the event overcame expectations, and hosted 300 thousand people in the 10 days.

Agricultural Festivals

The city is one of the few in the country that promotes, annually, three great events to acknowledge its strong agricultural potential. The Akimatsuri Autumn Fest, held in the Porteira Preta neighborhood, is an offering to the Gods as thanks for a good harvest. The Persimmon and Flowers Fest, in Itapety, showcases the city’s supremacy in both cultures: Mogi is the largest national producer of persimmon and orchids. The Furusato Matsuri Agricultural Festival honors the first rural producers of Cocuera.

Leon Feffer Park

One of the city’s signature locations, the park includes lakes, trails along the Tietê River, kiosks, soccer courts, volleyball courts, a suspension bridge, tree-top trails, and other sports and leisure equipment, all very environment-friendly.
